In his post, Milap penned a few lines dedicated to Sanjay, writing, “Jo kisi ke aage nahi jhukta tha, Jo mohabbat dene se nahi rukta tha, Woh Sanjay Gupta tha”. He also expressed his gratitude to Sanjay’s wife, Anuradha Lekhi Gupta, for giving him the opportunity to pay tribute to the filmmaker through his words. Recalling their long-standing association, Milap mentioned how Anuradha would often tease him about his writing style whenever he penned lines for Sanjay.
Sharing the video, Milap wrote, "Thank You @anuradhalekhigupta for allowing me the honour and chance to pay a small tribute to Gups with these lines. For 25 years you told me i write cheesy and corny lines for him. This was the last time But he is a "Badshah" who will always be "Zinda" in our hearts."

The tribute comes after Sanjay Gupta's prayer meet, which was held in Mumbai on November 3, following his demise on October 31. Several members of the film fraternity, along with his family and close friends, gathered to remember the filmmaker and celebrate his life. The gathering brought together moments of grief, music, personal anecdotes and memories shared by those who knew him closely.
At the prayer meet, Milap also recalled how Sanjay had been a guiding figure in his life and career. He shared that Sanjay had given him Kaante when he was just 21 and described him as his Guruji, Godfather and someone he loved deeply. He also referred to Sanjay as a Badshah who would continue to live on in everyone's hearts, drawing a connection to the filmmaker's 2006 film Zinda.
Through his latest Instagram post, Milap has once again expressed his affection and respect for the filmmaker, remembering a bond that extended beyond their professional association. His words also echoed the sentiment shared by several others at the prayer meet: while Sanjay Gupta may no longer be physically present, his memories and the relationships he built will continue to remain with those who knew him.
