Bareilly Ki Barfi reunion of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao goes viral; Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee join

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap Khurrana’s annual Diwali party in Mumbai turned into a memorable Bollywood reunion, thanks to a video that has been making the rounds on social media. Among the many guests at the star-studded celebration, Ayushmann, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee came together for an impromptu dance performance that brought back memories of Bareilly Ki Barfi while also creating a crossover moment for fans of Maddock Films’ supernatural universe.

In the video shared by Ayushmann on Instagram, the four actors can be seen dancing together to the title track of his upcoming romantic family drama, Yeh Prem Mol Liya. Their coordinated moves and energetic performance quickly caught the attention of fans, with Ayushmann accompanying the clip with the caption, “Prem waali Diwali sab ke saath.”

The video offered a particularly nostalgic moment for viewers as it brought Ayushmann and Rajkummar together again. The actors had previously shared screen space in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s 2017 film Bareilly Ki Barfi, where Ayushmann Khurrana played Chirag Dubey and Rajkummar Rao essayed Pritam Vidrohi. Their on-screen dynamic had become one of the film’s highlights, and their reunion in the Diwali video prompted fans to revisit those memories.

The presence of Aparshakti and Abhishek added another layer to the crossover. The two actors are familiar faces from Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe, with their characters Bittu and Jana featuring in films such as Stree, Bhediya and Stree 2. Their appearance alongside Ayushmann and Rajkummar gave the dance video an added dose of comic energy.

The celebration also offered a glimpse of the music from Ayushmann’s next theatrical release, Yeh Prem Mol Liya. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films, the family entertainer marks Ayushmann’s first on-screen pairing with Sharvari. The film also brings the actor into the celebrated legacy of Barjatya’s character Prem.

The name has been famously associated with Salman Khan, who played Prem in Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Shahid Kapoor also essayed the character in the 2006 romance Vivah. Ayushmann’s film marks the third instance of an actor headlining a Barjatya film as Prem.

With music composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Yeh Prem Mol Liya is scheduled to release theatrically on November 27, 2026.
