B.O. Report Card: Analyzing Shahid Kapoor’s BO journey

Shahid Kapoor who has been under the scanner for his not-so-successful ventures in the recent past, seems to have hit rock bottom with Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. Despite his experiment with the comedy genre, the actor still has a long way to go to become a bankable star.

We at Bollywood Hungama are taking a closer look at Shahid’s career graph w.r.t. his recent films' Box Office Collection records

The graph below tracks Shahid’s Box Office records over a couple of years, taking into account the Opening Day and Weekend collections of his films. While it’s not surprising that his last two films, Mausam and Teri Meri Kahaani, haven’t been able to achieve a remarkable collection at the BO, a lot of expectations were attached to Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. However, the Opening Weekend collection of the film is not at all impressive and seems to put Shahid way behind in the rat race compared to his contemporaries.
